The design of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University campus was commissioned by the OCP Group, a global leader in phosphate extraction and transformation, to the architectural firm RBTA (Ricardo Bofill – Taller de Arquitectura) based in Barcelona.
Extending over an area of 55 hectares, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University Campus is the cornerstone of the ambitious project known as “Mohammed VI Green City,” which aims at the sustainable development of this area located 50 miles north of Marrakech.
The project, inspired by the urban areas of Berénguir, features a rational and compact, highly geometric composition. It includes streets and squares that encourage pedestrian circulation, while courtyards and gardens promote interactions among students and teachers, fostering cultural exchange and development of a sense of community.
OItdoor lighting products from PUK are used to illuminate this rational and orthogonal composition, The combination of floodlights, bollards, and inground products highlights the straight lines and angles of the buildings, enhancing their geometry.
