Luxor, Egypt – 2018
A road that connects past, present and future. A path dating back more than 3400 years and connecting the Karnak Temple, the Luxor Temple and the Mut Temple. We are in Egypt and this is Al-Kebash Road! Dating back to the New Kingdom period, this street is lined with an extraordinary series of stone sphinxes that represent one of the most iconic symbols of Egyptian civilization. Its discovery and subsequent restoration work were fundamental to bring to light an important historical and cultural witness, offering visitors a fascinating journey through time.
The restoration of Al Kebash Road took years of meticulous work, during which archaeologists and experts worked to clear the road of the layers of sand and debris accumulated over the millennia. The project also involved the reconstruction of some damaged statues, restoring them to their former glory. This commitment has allowed to bring back to the dawn one of the most significant ceremonial ways of ancient Egypt, making it accessible again and usable by the public.
Outdoor lighting provided by PUK plays a key role in enhancing Al Kebash Road. Our lights, with their advanced technology and elegant design, highlight the sphinxes and other ancient structures, creating a suggestive setting that immerses tourists in the pharaonic atmosphere. During the evening hours, carefully positioned lighting enhances the architectural and artistic details of the street, allowing visitors to admire the testimonies of the ancient Egyptian civilization in a new and fascinating light.
